Earlier this week the South Korean flag was on display at a soccer game instead of the North Korean one. The North Koreans have been very upset and delayed the game by an hour. Now a new flag scandal involving Taiwan stirs emotions at the Olympic games before the official opening tonight.
A flag row on Regent Street had the Taiwanese flag removed after the UK Foreign Office intervined. The flag has been replaced with the Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee flag that is used at Olympic games since 1980. Back then the Olympic committee decided that Tawain cannot compete under the official name Republic of China.
