Akhilesh visits Kumbh

Allahabad, Jan 31 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Thursday reviewed preparations for the Feb 10 Shahi Snan at the Kumbh Mela here and met devotees and holy men.

Allahabad, Jan 31 — Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Thursday reviewed preparations for the Feb 10 Shahi Snan at the Kumbh Mela here and met devotees and holy men.

Yadav walked through most sectors of Hindu congregation during his three-hour visit. He told the seers that the government was committed to a hassle-free Kumbh, officials said.

He visited sectors 9 and 10 where prominent seers are staying and asked officials to resolve problems they were facing.

The chief minister later took a bird's eye view of the Kumbh from the Allahabad Fort. He also offered prayers.

He was accompanied by his uncle and Public Works Department Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav.
