Pope Benedict XVI surprised today with his resignation. He says he does not have the power anymore to be Pope.

Pope Benedict XVI will resign on Feb. 28. The reasons for his surprise resignation is health. He does not have the power anymore to fulfill the duties as Pope. Pope Benedict XVI is 85. The German was Pope for 7 years. It is only the 2nd resignation of a Pope in the history of the Catholic church.

Now the preparations and voting for a new Pope will begin.
