Cairo, Feb 13 — At least 10 people were killed when a truck collided with three cars on a desert road leading to Egypt's Alexandria city, Xinhua reported.

The accident led to closing of the road for hours before traffic authorities managed to restore traffic flow, official news agency MENA said.

Alexandria is around 220 km from the capital Cairo.

Transportation Minister Hatem Abdel-Latif recently said road accidents in Egypt kill around 10,000 every year.

The lack of highway security monitoring system, poor road maintenance and negligence of traffic rules are behind the high rate of road accidents in the country.

Today's fearful Communists

Oct 7 2014 6:55pm CDT | Source: WND

If you want to be ignored as a columnist but still maintain a halo of self-righteousness, then write passionately about the story that gets 10 seconds or nothing on the news but should have been right up there with ISIS and Ebola. I’m surprised they haven’t already locked up demented columnists for grabbing and shaking strangers on the street and yelling, “You should have been interested in what I just wrote!” Free ...

Has archaeology gone overboard in throwing out Bible?

Sep 14 2014 12:29am CDT | Source: WND

(ASOR) The relationship between archaeology and the Bible has been a much-debated topic over the last 25 years. The terms ‘minimalists’ and ‘maximalists’ are now as frequent as ‘exodus’ and ‘epigraphy’. There seems to be little or no middle ground. On the one hand, William Dever is—as he has stated on several occasions—flattered to have the death of biblical archaeology ascribed to him, although he is quick to point out that, in fact, he “only wrote the ...
