Paris, Feb 19 — France and China would launch a new round of cooperation and exchanges to further their historic relations, French President Francois Hollande has said.

Addressing a reception here marking the Chinese Lunar New Year, Hollande Monday said some cabinet members have visited China after the new French government was sworn in last May.

A number of French entrepreneurs are developing their business in China, an important country in the world, he said, adding that he would also pay a visit to China this year, reported Xinhua.

Hollande voiced hope that France would establish a mutually beneficial relationship with China to boost its economic growth, saying his country looks forward to investment from Chinese enterprises.

A Revolt Against Austerity?

Oct 19 2014 8:56pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

There was a bit of good news from Europe last week. Two of the nations that desperately need some respite from austerity essentially told German Chancellor Merkel to stuff it. France, under pressure from Germany and the European Union to meet the E.U.'s straightjacket requirement of deficits of no more than three percent of GDP (whether or not depression looms) informed the E.U. that they will not hit this target until 2017. The government of President Francois Hollande, un ...

Should Turkey Remain in NATO After the Fall of Kobani?

Oct 14 2014 10:38am CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

This article also appears in The New Republic. Kobani will fall. In a matter of hours. Or perhaps days. But the Syrian city will fall, a victim of the cynical reckoning of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who, by refusing to act and leaving his powerful army stationed along the border with Syria, just a few kilometers from the already martyred city, seems to have chosen Daesh, otherwise known as the Islamic State, over the Ku ...

7 Surprising Reasons Turkey Is Entering the War on ISIL

Oct 3 2014 3:06pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

The Turkish parliament voted by a large margin Thursday to allow Turkish troops to make incursions into neighboring countries, if necessary, to defeat the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). This authorization is necessary according to the Turkish constitution. Likewise, parliament voted to allow foreign troops involved in the fight against ISIL to be based on Turkish soil. This provision may allow the US to use its Incirlik air force base against the terr ...

Sep 24 2014 4:28pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

Among the blizzard of announcements made as part of the UN Climate Summit over the past few days, one that should not be lost in the storm is the pledge made by French President Francois Hollande to contribute $1 billion to the new Green Climate Fund. Cracking the ISIS Conundrum - Obama and the Arab World

Sep 23 2014 1:14pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

One year is a short time in politics. In the summer of 2013 Obama reportedly seriously considered launching air strikes against the Assad regime for using chemical weapons against its civilians. Earlier, Obama had publicly drawn a line in the sand, a red line saying that there would be consequences if Assad took that route. French President Francois Hollande had readied his aircraft to join American airc ...
