Kerry, who took office Feb 1 to succeed Hillary Clinton, will visit Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar.

The conflicts in Mali, Syria and Afghanistan will top Kerry's agenda, Xinhua cited the State Department as saying.

In London, his first stop, Kerry will meet senior British officials to discuss a range of bilateral and global issues the two allies are closely coordinating, the department said.

In Berlin, he will discuss issues of mutual interest and make a number of public appearances, including an exchange of views with German youth on the state of European-American relations.

Politics now trumps the safety of America

Sep 23 2014 6:18pm CDT | Source: WND

There is no denying that our government and elected officials are not looking out for the American people and the safety of our nation. There is also no denying that we the people know it. Every day we can see the threats against our nation creeping closer and closer, and yet both political parties are more interested in political gain than in solving problems. Under the, dare I say, “leadership” of Barack Obama our country is falling to its knees with unsustaina ...

'You Can Make History... Or Be Vilified By It'

Sep 23 2014 2:30pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

Speaking at the opening of the United Nation's climate change summit in New York, actor Leonardo DiCaprio has called on world leaders to "make history, or be vilified by it": I am not a scientist, but I don't need to be. Because the world's scientific community has spoken, and they have given us our prognosis, if we do not act together, we will surely perish. This is not a partisan debate; it is ...

Cracking the ISIS Conundrum - Obama and the Arab World

Sep 23 2014 1:14pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

One year is a short time in politics. In the summer of 2013 Obama reportedly seriously considered launching air strikes against the Assad regime for using chemical weapons against its civilians. Earlier, Obama had publicly drawn a line in the sand, a red line saying that there would be consequences if Assad took that route. French President Francois Hollande had readied his aircraft to join American ...

The Security Mom Myth Revisited

Sep 23 2014 12:44pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

In 2004, John Kerry had a problem with women voters. Pundits declared that Kerry was losing women voters - the so-called Security Moms - due to their deep-seated concerns about terrorism. These security moms simply trusted George Bush more to keep their children safe. Never mind that this swing bloc of mothers did not exist (security-focused women voters were Republicans), it was also clear that conce ...
