Beijing, June 13 — Rescuers were searching for five children who were reported missing after a minibus plunged into a river in China's Fujian province a day ago, authorities said Thursday.

The seven-seat minibus carrying 10 people went into a 10-metre-deep river Wednesday afternoon near Zhangzhou city, reported Xinhua citing a government official.

Though five people managed to make it to safety, five children are still missing, the official said, adding that the torrential rain hit the mountainous township from Tuesday to Wednesday, causing the road to turn muddy and slippery, which might have partly caused the accident.

In the current conflict, there are those who refuse to grasp the simple, stark truth. Although the distinction between Israel and Hamas couldn't be clearer -- between a democratic nation and a terrorist organization, between the victim and the aggressor, between a society that protects its civilians and one that uses them as human shields, and between a military that operates by a strict code of conduct and a group governed by no scruples whatsoever -- some consider all that irrelevant, ...

The Hollywood Reporter is surprise Sony bumped "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" a full two years, from 2016 to 2018, but they have to be in the minority. China's giant toad looks like communist leader

Jul 23 2014 11:21pm CDT | Source: WND

Dutch Artist Florentijn Hofman Visits Shanghai
(New York Times) There was something familiar about the giant yellow inflatable toad, some Chinese noted online, shortly after it appeared in a Beijing park. Part of the recognition stemmed from its similarity to the big rubber duck created by the Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, which attracted huge crowds in Hong Kong and Beijing last year and triggered knockoffs in several other Chinese cities. Part came from the similarity of the 72-foot-tall inflatable amphibian, by the Chinese ...
