Beijing, June 13 — Rescuers were searching for five children who were reported missing after a minibus plunged into a river in China's Fujian province a day ago, authorities said Thursday.

The seven-seat minibus carrying 10 people went into a 10-metre-deep river Wednesday afternoon near Zhangzhou city, reported Xinhua citing a government official.

Though five people managed to make it to safety, five children are still missing, the official said, adding that the torrential rain hit the mountainous township from Tuesday to Wednesday, causing the road to turn muddy and slippery, which might have partly caused the accident.

UKIP's New Manifesto Shows They're Playing The Lib Dem Game

Aug 21 2014 7:31am CDT | Source: Big Government

Perhaps the most worrying aspect of the new manifesto from UKIP - Britain's Tea Party - is the debt it owes to its most bitter ideological opponents, David Cameron and Nick Clegg. From the simperingly centrist, faux-Tory Prime Minister, it has borrowed the technique of trying to wrong-foot its enemies on the left by trying to ape their language. Just as Cameron infamously urged Conservatives to "hug a hoodie", panic about me ...

Why We Don't Really Want a President Like LBJ

Aug 21 2014 5:07am CDT | Source: Taegan Goddard's Political Wire

Matt Bai: "The problem with Barack Obama, people are always telling me these days, is that he just doesn't love the full contact sport of politics. He has no capacity for the inside machinations or tactical brutality we associate with a more sophisticated and celebrated president like Lyndon Johnson." "What we really need, I guess, is an executive in the mold of a Chris Christie or an Andrew Cuomo or a Rick Perry, all of whom are more extroverted and more brazen about wieldi ...
