Britain agrees with US over Syrian chemical weapons usage

Jun 14 2013, 6:42am CDT | by

London, June 14 (IANS) Britain Friday agreed with the US assessment of chemical weapons being used in Syria.

London, June 14 — Britain Friday agreed with the US assessment of chemical weapons being used in Syria.

British Foreign Secretary William Hague said he agreed with the US assessment that chemical weapons had been used in Syria, Xinhua reported.

The White House Thursday publicly accused the Bashar al-Assad regime, for the first time, of using chemical weapons, including the nerve agent sarin gas, against rebels in the ongoing civil war.

On Thursday, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay announced that the number of documented deaths resulting from the conflict in Syria between March 2011 and the end of April 2013 has reached 92,901.

Obama Has No ISIS Strategy

Sep 16 2014 10:56am CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

Obama said a week ago he did not have a strategy to combat ISIS, and that now he does. He was right the first time. Oh, History The United States ignored ISIS for months. Then out of nowhere a complex situation morphed into a struggle to save the Yazidis from so-called genocide, requiring special forces and air strikes. The Yazidis disappeared from view, perhaps saved, certainly no longer needed as a ...

Hizballah plans to dispatch scores of terrorists into Israel while striking civilian communities with missiles in a future war that could last months, a senior Israeli source told reporters. That, the Israeli military official believes, has the gr ...

Get Out! - The Only Sane Response to the Islamic State

Sep 14 2014 8:20pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

The Islamic State (ISIS) proves the law of unintended consequences. Congratulations America! We killed Christianity in the Middle East and unleashed a terror organization with far greater reach and power than Al Qaeda ever possessed. If insanity is defined as doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results, then our foreign policy needs to have been locked away in an institution a long, ...

Iraqi Forces Set Stage for Another Massacre of Iranian Refugees in Camp Liberty

Sep 12 2014 5:33am CDT | Source: Big Government

The Iranian regime is definitely the biggest loser of Minister Nouri Al-Maliki withdrawing his candidacy for a third term as Iraq’s Prime Minister. During eight years of divisive and sectarian rule, Maliki had proved himself to be the Iranian regime’s greatest ally in the region, dedicating his power and resources to furthering Iran’s agendas in Iraq and the region. It had been under Maliki’s tenure that the mullahs i ...

Obama's Last Chance to Control His Credibility

Sep 11 2014 7:52pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

President Barack Obama has a precious opportunity to carve out a legacy for himself and carry out a coup against the reputation of weakness, repudiation and retreat that has dogged and haunted him. The Islamic State (IS) had invited the U.S. president to a war, which has opened a window for Barack Obama to shape his own fate rather than leaving his historical political legacy in the hands of others. If he shows boldness and acts decisively from a position of strength ...

Treat ISIS Like an Onion

Sep 11 2014 2:55pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

Like layers of an onion, ISIS supporters can be carefully peeled away. But not if Obama goes into Syria and Iraq with a mallet. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is a symptom -- not the cause -- of turbulence in the Middle East. It is a symptom of oppressive, corrupt, and undemocratic regimes supported and manipulated by the United States, Europe, and Iraq's neighbors, including Iran, to serve their own interests. ISIS, in reality an offshoot of al-Qaeda, is partly the res ...

Gallup: Republicans Hold 23 Point Lead On Issue of Terrorism

Sep 11 2014 10:31am CDT | Source: Big Government

Just after the 2012 election, after the mainstream media had allowed President Obama to repeatedly lie about Benghazi and the status of the War on Terror (I believe the word used was "decimated"), Democrats and Republicans were tied on the issue of which party was better able to handle terrorism. What a difference 18 months and facts even the mainstream media can't conceal make. Today, according to Gallup, Republicans hold a 23 point edge over Democr ...
