Cairo, June 16 — Egypt has detained a man for allegedly spying for Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, state-run Al-Ahram news website reported.

The Egyptian State Security Prosecution decided to detain the man for 15 days on charges of working for Mossad since 2011.

The prosecution said the defendant, an employee of a private company, realised earlier that his link to Mossad had been monitored, so he "confessed" to the Egyptian intelligence in 2012, hoping that the authorities would drop charges against him.

The "fake report", as described by the prosecution, did not work as the Egyptian side kept an eye on the suspect and monitored his movements among Arab and Western countries during 2012 and 2013 until the evidence for conviction was completed, Xinhua said.

The man was arrested with surveillance devices and other equipment for communication with the Israelis.

Today's fearful Communists

Oct 7 2014 6:55pm CDT | Source: WND

If you want to be ignored as a columnist but still maintain a halo of self-righteousness, then write passionately about the story that gets 10 seconds or nothing on the news but should have been right up there with ISIS and Ebola. I’m surprised they haven’t already locked up demented columnists for grabbing and shaking strangers on the street and yelling, “You should have been interested in what I just wrote!” Freedom-lovers have had a bad season worldwide that showed ...

Oct 4 2014 8:58am CDT | Source: Big Government

This article originally appeared in The Huffington Post: Artist Giulia Marchi describes her project, "Call Her Fatimah -- Musilin," as being at the intersection of gender, religion and ethnicity. And she's right, her niche photography series centers on the female muslim population in China, a group of individuals that challenges most onlookers' perceptions of what it means to be a woman and religious outside of Western culture.  Through her series, Marchi documents the daily ...

(Washington Free Beacon) A storefront in Egypt is advertising the services of Hitler the cockroach killer, according to a copy of the sign posted on Facebook. The offer bearing the name of the initiator of the Holocaust promises an exclusive offer to burn cockroaches, an apparent reference to the Nazi gas chambers that killed some 6 million Jews. The anti-Semitic advertisement is a reminder that anti-Semitism continues to thrive and grow in Egypt even under its mo ...

Has archaeology gone overboard in throwing out Bible?

Sep 14 2014 12:29am CDT | Source: WND

(ASOR) The relationship between archaeology and the Bible has been a much-debated topic over the last 25 years. The terms ‘minimalists’ and ‘maximalists’ are now as frequent as ‘exodus’ and ‘epigraphy’. There seems to be little or no middle ground. On the one hand, William Dever is—as he has stated on several occasions—flattered to have the death of biblical archaeology ascribed to him, although he is quick to point out that, in fact, he “only wrote the obit ...
