Islamabad, June 23 (IANS) Two Chinese nationals and a Chinese American were among 11 people killed in a pre-dawn terrorist attack in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region Sunday, the Chinese embassy in Pakistan said.

Islamabad, June 23 — Two Chinese nationals and a Chinese American were among 11 people killed in a pre-dawn terrorist attack in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan region Sunday, the Chinese embassy in Pakistan said.

One Chinese national was rescued in the attack and details about those Chinese and Chinese-American killed were yet to be confirmed, reported Xinhua citing the embassy.

According to Geo News, 10 tourists - nine foreigners and a Pakistani national - were killed in the attack by unidentified assailants.

Nine tourists from China, Ukraine, and Russia besides a Pakistani national died in the attack which occurred at Nanga Parbat tourist base camp, Geo News reported.

Gilgit Deputy Inspector General of Plice Ali Sher said unidentified armed men attacked the Nanga Parbat tourist base camp at Fairy Meadow in Dayamar area around 1.00 a.m. and killed nine foreign tourists camped there.
