Moscow, June 23 — A plane believed to be carrying US intelligence fugitive Edward Snowden arrived in Moscow from Hong Kong, from where the US was seeking his extradition on charges of espionage. There is speculation that he might now fly on to another country, BBC reported.

The Hong Kong government said Washington had failed to meet the requirements for extradition.

Snowden, an intelligence contractor, fled to Hong Kong in May after revealing details of internet and phone surveillance by US intelligence on countries including India, Pakistan, China and Iran.

There is a remarkable moment in the new Edward Snowden documentary Citizenfour that shows why we need judges to take their duty to uphold the Constitution seriously. Citizenfour includes a clip of a 2011 hearing before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, focusing on a number of suits involving dragnet communication surveillance by the NSA. During the hearing, U.S. Department of Justice attorney H. Thomas Byron ...

Pulitzer Prize Winning Reporter: Media Has Given Obama Administration a Pass

Oct 30 2014 12:46pm CDT | Source: Big Government

A Pulitzer prize winning reporter, formerly with the Washington Post, says the major media has mostly given the Obama administration a pass. In a story published yesterday at the Daily Beast, 2006 Pulitzer winning reporter Susan Schmidt agrees that this administration seems to get less scrutiny than previous ones. “With some exceptions, people don’t seem to be digging as hard as they have in other administrations," Schmidt tells the Daily Beast's Lloyd Grove. She adds, ...

Citizenfour: The Spy Who Was Never Out in the Cold

Oct 29 2014 5:19pm CDT | Source: Politics - The Huffington Post

Officers of the CIA's clandestine service are often warned: don't fall in love with your agents. This cautionary advice is meant to be interpreted literally and figuratively. In Laura Poitras' compelling, controversial, and ultimately contradictory new documentary Citizenfour, the filmmaker seems to have fallen in love with her "agent" -- in this case the movie's hero, or villain, depending upon how you look at it -- Edward Snowden. To be clear: ...

But there's one sticky catch: According to emails from the site's editors, SugarString.com will ban reporters from writing any stories about Net Neutrality or U.S. surveillance programs.
