Hexagon Geosystems will strengthen its market position and technology in the mining industry by complementing its well established Leica Geosystems Mining business with the acquisition of Devex. Devex, based in Belo Horizonte, Brazil has a leading market position in the South American market, serving the mining industry with automation solutions for mining operators.

"Hexagon's customers in mining and other sectors are increasing the utilisation of automation technologies in order to deliver higher efficiencies at lower costs," said Hexagon President and CEO Ola Rollén.
