Apex Chamber of Commerce Releases Survey Responses from Town Council Candidates

Oct 24 2013, 3:24am CDT | by PR.com

Apex Town Council candidates respond to questionnaire on economic development and business issues in preparation for Election Day.

Apex, NC, October 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Six Candidates Vying for Three Seats November 5.

Economic development, transportation and town growth were at the heart of topics in a survey of candidates for Apex Town Council conducted by The Apex Chamber of Commerce. All six candidates in the race participated in the survey. The responses are now available on line at www.apexchamber.com.

“We asked each candidate six questions, mostly about the growth of Apex and attracting new business to town,” said Graham Wilson, Executive Director of the Apex Chamber of Commerce. “All of them had the opportunity to share their thoughts on where Apex should place its priorities in the future. We want to express our thanks to all of the candidates for participating in the survey.”

The candidates (in alphabetical order) are: Nicole Dozier, Jennifer Ferrell, Chad Price, Terry Rowe, Gene Schulze and Denise Wilkie. Three seats on council are up for election, each for a four-year term.

“The Apex Chamber does not endorse individual candidates, but we saw this as an opportunity to provide a neutral forum for all of the candidates to answer the same questions,” said Wilson. “We hope the survey will be a help to voters as they make their decisions on Election Day.”

Elections for Apex Town Council will take place November 5. Early voting options are also available. Voters who are not sure of where to vote should contact the Wake County Board of Elections for more information.

Let’s set the facts straight

Oct 30 2014 10:28am CDT | Source: The Cabinet Press

To the Editor: During the past few weeks, you have heard a lot about the race for State Senate in District 9. Unfortunately, while it should have been about the state’s challenges and how we, as policy makers, see the path of solutions, my opponent has resorted to spending the past three weeks doing everything in his power to disparage me, my family and my business. When I decided to become politically active, I knew there would be days when people dis ...

Havenstein is change NH needs

Oct 30 2014 10:04am CDT | Source: The Cabinet Press

To the Editor: There are many unfavorable things we can say about the current NH state of affairs. Two to consider are: In 2010, our state faced a $800,000+ deficit, which was corrected by the Republican legislature in 2011/12. NH is again projecting a deficit of $100-$400 million for 2013/14, even though a surplus was generated in 2011/12. About $40 Million is due to HHS ObamaCare overspending. And within two years, NH has slipped from 19th to 30th as a state in w ...
