Apex Chamber of Commerce Releases Survey Responses from Town Council Candidates

Oct 24 2013, 3:24am CDT | by PR.com

Apex Town Council candidates respond to questionnaire on economic development and business issues in preparation for Election Day.

Apex, NC, October 24, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Six Candidates Vying for Three Seats November 5.

Economic development, transportation and town growth were at the heart of topics in a survey of candidates for Apex Town Council conducted by The Apex Chamber of Commerce. All six candidates in the race participated in the survey. The responses are now available on line at www.apexchamber.com.

“We asked each candidate six questions, mostly about the growth of Apex and attracting new business to town,” said Graham Wilson, Executive Director of the Apex Chamber of Commerce. “All of them had the opportunity to share their thoughts on where Apex should place its priorities in the future. We want to express our thanks to all of the candidates for participating in the survey.”

The candidates (in alphabetical order) are: Nicole Dozier, Jennifer Ferrell, Chad Price, Terry Rowe, Gene Schulze and Denise Wilkie. Three seats on council are up for election, each for a four-year term.

“The Apex Chamber does not endorse individual candidates, but we saw this as an opportunity to provide a neutral forum for all of the candidates to answer the same questions,” said Wilson. “We hope the survey will be a help to voters as they make their decisions on Election Day.”

Elections for Apex Town Council will take place November 5. Early voting options are also available. Voters who are not sure of where to vote should contact the Wake County Board of Elections for more information.

The Fix: Everything you need to know about the Senate ad-spending battle — in 2 maps

Oct 1 2014 12:23pm CDT | Source: Post Politics: - The Washington Post

We're now less than five weeks from the 2014 election, which means it's crunch time -- both for winning races and for expectation-setting. Part of that expectation-setting game is pointing out, early and often, how your candidates are being overwhelmed by outside spending with little ammunition to fight back. The benefits are two-fold: 1) Offering a preemptive excuse in case you lose, and 2) Sending a message to moneyed outside groups (with whom campaigns can ...

Federal Eye: How some budget cuts can actually add to deficits

Oct 1 2014 11:20am CDT | Source: Post Politics: - The Washington Post

Wednesday marks one year since the government shut down because of a congressional budgeting impasse caused by disagreements over how to reduce the nation’s deficit. That same legislative gridlock allowed government-wide spending cuts to take effect in March 2013, ushering in an era of sequestration that continues to this day. Read full a ...

Romney is Still Buying Houses

Oct 1 2014 5:26am CDT | Source: Taegan Goddard's Political Wire

New York Times: "Despite being dinged for conspicuous real estate consumption in 2012, he's building a not-at-all-humble mansion in Utah, with 5,900 square feet of living space, an outdoor gazebo, fire pit and spa. (Another 1 Percent touch: a 'secret door' leading to a storage room.) It will be Mr. Romney's fifth home - or his fourth - details, details - if he manages to sell his $12 million waterfront estate in La Jolla, Calif. (of car-elevator fame) ...
